Hundreds of Palestinians perform Friday prayers in Khan al-Ahmar

Friday 13-July-2018

Hundreds of Palestinians performed Friday prayers in the village of Khan al-Ahmar to the east of occupied Jerusalem in solidarity with the village which is facing an imminent threat of demolition and displacement by Israeli authorities.

The Friday preacher Sheikh Nasser Al-Qorn called for intensifying Palestinian presence in the threatened village and to support its residents by all possible means.

Sheikh al-Qorn strongly condemned the international silence vis-a-vis “Israeli arrogance and brutality” against residents of Khan al-Ahmar.

Israel continues to breach all international treaties and the Geneva conventions which prioritize the protection of civilians and prevent forced displacement he said.

He also renewed the Palestinian people’s total rejection of the so-called “Deal of the Century” proposed by US President Donald Trump.

Following the prayers the worshipers marched towards the main Jerusalem-Jericho road which passes near the village to express their rejection of the Israeli move. The protesters waved the flag of Palestine and chanted slogans condemning Israel’s plan to demolish the village.

Last week Israeli forces attacked Palestinian and international activists who were on a vigil at the Bedouin community to prevent its anticipated demolition and displacement of its 190 Palestinian residents most of them children.
