The International Red Cross (IRC) has informed a Palestinian family from Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip that their son is the young man who was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers at the border fence in southern Gaza.
The slain Palestinian has been identified as Ramzi Najjar. He was shot near the border fence east of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip after infiltrating the border fence.
Another Gazan who was with Ramzi managed to escape unharmed according to an Israeli military statement.
IRC said the Israeli army is holding the casualty’s body and refusing to transfer it back to his family claiming that he was carrying an axe.
More than 123 Palestinians including 13 children were killed and 13000 others injured with bullet fire discharged by the Israeli occupation forces toward protesters at the Gaza border since the launch of the Great March of Return rallies on March 30.
