Haneyya urges PA to release its security grip in West Bank

Sunday 20-May-2018

Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has called on the Palestinian Authority (PA) leadership to release its security grip on the Palestinian people in the West Bank and give them a free hand to defend themselves.

Addressing a crowd of protesters in a border area east of Gaza on Saturday Haneyya hailed the Palestinians in the West Bank as “no less brave manly and enthusiastic than their compatriots in Gaza.”

He also applauded all young men and women participating in the March of Return protests for their fortitude and their faith in the justice of their national cause.

The Hamas official said the young people in Gaza were able with their awareness will and faith to strongly enforce the Palestinian question and the Gaza siege issue on all political actors in the international and regional arenas.

He also said that the pure blood of all Gazan martyrs thwarted US president Donald Trump’s deal of the century which he tried to launch through his embassy opening in Occupied Jerusalem.

He valued the UN Human Rights Council’s decision to send a team of international war crimes investigators to Gaza and its call for ending the blockade on its population.

At least 62 Palestinians were killed and thousands wounded in a single day of protests on Monday May 14 in the Gaza Strip.

Since protests began on March 30 the Israeli occupation forces have killed 106 Palestinians including 15 children. More than 12000 have been wounded at least 3500 by live ammunition.
