Egyptian authorities on Thursday decided to continue opening the Rafah crossing throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the administration of Rafah crossing in Gaza the Egyptian authorities decided to keep the border crossing open throughout Ramadan to help relieve the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
“I have instructed the concerned bodies to take the necessary steps to continue opening the Rafah crossing throughout the holy month of Ramadan in order to ease the suffering of our brothers in the Gaza Strip” Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said in a brief statement posted in his facebook account.
Egyptian authorities earlier declared to open Rafah crossing for four days starting from last Saturday to be then extended till Thursday to allow medical and humanitarian aid to be transferred to Gaza.
