Head of Hamas’ political bureau Ismail Haneyya welcomed on Thursday Birzeit student election results which “prove that the Islamic bloc or Hamas Movement could not be neglected despite the PA and Israeli continued attempts to vanish it.”
For the fourth consecutive year Hamas’s student bloc won the most student council seats at Birzeit University on Wednesday in Ramallah.
The results prove that partnership is the most appropriate political system for Palestinians he said.
Birzeit student election cannot be separated from its national political environment Haneyya continued.
He also stressed the urgent need to hold the Palestinian National Council meeting according to Beirut and Cairo agreements.
The elections results also prove that our students are adherent to resistance option to protect Palestinian national constants as they refuse to give up any inch of our lands and holy sites the senior Hamas leader underlined.
“Fair and free elections are the sole way to end division and achieve national unity.”
He concluded by hailing Palestinian students in Birzeit University and congratulating Islamic bloc for its winning.
