Sick Palestinian arrested by Israeli forces at Beit Hanun crossing

The Israeli occupation forces at nightfall Wednesday arrested two Palestinians including a sick civilian as they tried to pass through the Beit Hanun (Erez) border-crossing.

According to Maher Abu Ouf from the Commission of Palestinian Crossings and Borders Israeli forces deployed at the Beit Hanun crossing arrested the Palestinian merchant Ayoub Oudeh and the sick citizen Shadi al-Ajala.

Both citizens identified as natives of al-Shuja’iya neighborhood in Gaza were arrested after they headed to the Israeli intelligence to appeal for a travel permit via the crossing.

Since the start of 2018 at least five Palestinians were arrested by the Israeli forces at Beit Hanun crossing. In 2017 17 were arrested.

96% of Palestinians living in the blockaded Gaza Strip are banned from passing through the Beit Hanun crossing point among them students patients merchants and businessmen.
