Israeli soldiers at dawn Thursday opened fire at a car boarded by two Palestinian young men with no reason as they arrived at Halhoul Bridge north of al-Khalil city in the West Bank.
One of the young men suffered serious bullet injuries in his back and was transferred to al-Ahli Hospital in al-Khalil where he underwent surgery according local sources.
The wounded young man was identified as 24-year-old Ahmed Zama’reh.
The other young man who was with him also suffered a bullet injury and his condition was described as moderate.
In a separate incident the Israeli occupation forces closed last night the main entrance to Azzun town east of Qalqilya after violent clashes with local young men.
Local sources said that Israeli soldiers spread through the town’s streets and brutalized citizens after several settlers’ cars were pelted with stones on a nearby road.
