Thursday 22-March-2018

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) last night and at dawn Thursday raided homes and kidnapped five Palestinian citizens during campaigns in different West Bank areas.

In Jenin local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that Israeli soldiers stormed and ransacked the house of Sheikh Mufid Nazzal 50 and rounded him up.

They added that soldiers also stormed areas near Qabatiya and set up makeshift checkpoints for several hours.

In Nablus the IOF encircled the house of martyr Omair Shahada in Urif village and handed his brother Ibrahim a summons for interrogation from the Shin Bet. Shahada was killed a week ago during skirmishes with soldiers and settlers.

The IOF also tightened its security measures at Beit Furik checkpoint east of Nablus where soldiers stopped passing vehicles and checked the IDs of Palestinian passengers without making arrests.

In Qalqilya the IOF stormed Azzun town and handed written threats to several citizens warning there would be severe measures against the town if local young men did not stop attacks against Israelis.

The IOF also kidnapped at dawn Thursday two young men from their homes in Qalqilya city. They were identified as Ibrahim Awaida and Maisara Afana.

In Tulkarem local sources said that Israeli soldiers and plain-clothes officers broke into the house of Noman Shahrour in Bal’ah town and kidnapped his sons Muamar and Laith.

They added that the soldiers also ransacked other homes belonging to citizens related to Shahrour during their campaign in the town.
