The Israeli occupation forces on Thursday arrested the wife of a Palestinian prisoner on her way to visit her husband in the Israeli Negev jail.
According to local sources the Israeli occupation authorities notified the family of prisoner Majed Nizar from Jenin’s southern town of Yabad about their decision to detain Majed’s wife Safa Atatra on claims that she attempted to smuggle a cell phone SIM card to her husband.
Such charges are considered crimes by the Israeli occupation authorities. In most cases the suspects end up receiving a jail term of up to one year and being subjected to house confinement along with prison visits and steep fines.
