Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces on Friday rounded up two Palestinians in the West Bank including a journalist. Many others are still held captive in the PA jails including some hunger strikers who are protesting their illegal detention.
In Ramallah the PA intelligence apparatus arrested Journalist Emad Abu Awwad producer of a TV show on Israeli violations on al-Quds channel. He was previously arrested in both Israeli and PA jails. Detainee Abu Awwad started an open-ended hunger strike since first moment of arrest.
In Qalqilya PA preventive security forces apprehended the Palestinian youth Islam al-Hajjar. Meanwhile PA security forces extended the detention of captive Qasem Suwi for 15 days ignoring his going on hunger strike for 10 consecutive days.
The preventive security apparatus has been refusing to release him despite the issuance of five court release orders. He has been arrested pending the decision of the governor for over 3 months while deprived of his right to see his lawyer.
