Hamas chief in Gaza Yahya al-Sinwar on Monday met with the Egyptian security delegation in Gaza City and discussed the inter-Palestinian reconciliation process and the humanitarian conditions in the besieged enclave.
During the meeting Sinwar highlighted his Movement’s keenness on achieving the Palestinian reconciliation and facilitating the mission of the Egyptian delegation.
According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) in Gaza the meeting lasted for more than three hours in the presence of Tawfiq Abu Na’iem head of the internal security forces in Gaza.
For its part the Egyptian delegation led by senior intelligence official Sameh Nabil affirmed its determination to follow up and address all issues related to the Palestinian reconciliation.
The Egyptian delegation arrived in Gaza through the Beit Hanoun (Erez) border crossing on Saturday.
In this regard senior Hamas official Ismail Radwan told the PIC that the Egyptian delegation visited Gaza to work on removing all obstacles in the way of the Palestinian reconciliation.
“We welcome the Egyptian delegation and we are working on facilitating its mission and contributing to its success in the hope of implementing the reconciliation agreement” Radwan said.
