Dozens of relatives of Palestinian prisoners from thebesieged Gaza Strip left the coastal enclave Monday morning through the Erezcheckpoint after they were granted permission to visit their relatives beingheld in Israel’s Nafha prison.
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) spokespersonin Gaza Suheir Zaqout told the PIC reporter that 43 Palestinians including 16children visited 21 Palestinian prisoners held in Nafha prison located inIsrael’s southern Negev desert through facilitation from the ICRC.
7000 Palestinians are being held in Israeli prisons including380 prisoners from the Gaza Strip.
The International Committee of the Red Cross organizesweekly visits for Gazan families to their imprisoned relatives.
