12 Palestinians kidnapped by Israeli forces in overnight clashes

Thursday 22-February-2018

At least 12 Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces at nightfall Wednesday in clashes rocking the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Israeli military claimed responsibility for the abduction of seven Palestinians in clashes that burst out in Shu’fat refugee camp north of Occupied Jerusalem.

The list of detainees included children aged between 13 and 15.

A number of Palestinian young men were also kidnapped by the occupation forces during clashes that flared up in Ein Anba town east of Jerusalem’s Old City and in Ramallah’s western town of Beituna.

At the same time Palestinian journalist Mohamed Ulwan was kidnapped by Israeli soldiers as they quelled a vigil staged outside the Israeli Ofer jail west of Ramallah in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners.

Meanwhile a series of makeshift checkpoints was pitched by the Israeli army across Jenin province blocking Palestinians’ free access out of and into the area.
