The Popular International Committee for Supporting Gaza said that the problems which the health sector in Gaza suffers from cannot be tolerated calling on the world’s free people to intervene to save the impoverished enclave from total collapse.
“The tight blockade imposed on the population of Gaza which has brought them to this catastrophic situation has become a real threat to the health sector which suffers from a severe shortage of fuel used in hospitals and medical centers” head of the committee Essam Yousef stated in a press release on Friday.
“The lack of medicines and medical supplies and equipment as well as the failure of patients to travel for treatment are also factors that add to the catastrophic situation of the health sector in Gaza” Yousef said.
He also condemned the international community’s silence on such humanitarian suffering in Gaza. “The international community is standing at a crossroads and it has to choose either to take the side of its principles and its civilized and human values or to proclaim its return to primal ages and accept watching the Gaza people suffering under blockade and their newborns dying.”
