Member of Hamas’s political bureau Husam Badran has strongly denounced the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces for raiding homes of families in al-Khalil and physically assaulting women describing such practices as “a serious violation of the national and social norms.”
“Such practices make our people lose their trust in the Palestinian Authority which is expected to maintain their security and safety and not to intimidate them and violate their rights and dignity” Badran stated in a press release on Thursday.
“I call upon president Mahmoud Abbas to put an end to such unacceptable violations” he said.
“The Palestinian Authority and Fatah must realize that such practices perpetuate the division in the Palestinian arena and obstruct the reconciliation that we look forward to achieving it” the Hamas official added.
