Palestinian lawmaker Fathi al-Qarawi has condemned that the ongoing political arrests taking place in the West Bank at the hand of the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces describing their actions as “antinational.”
In press remarks on Monday MP Qarawi stated that the PA political arrest policy “constitutes an additional burden on the Palestinian people who already suffer from Israel’s practices in their occupied territories.”
He said that the political arrests turned from practices solely intended to please the Americans and Israelis into antinational actions aimed at humiliating and abusing citizens especially those released from Israeli jails.
The lawmaker called on the PA leadership to swiftly intervene to curb its security apparatuses’ violations against citizens and slammed leaders of factions and national figures for their passivity towards such practices.
