Palestinian minister of foreign affairs Riyad al-Maliki has expressed the Palestinian Authority’s rejection of the US terror designation against Hamas political chief Ismail Haneyya.
Maliki made his remarks on Saturday during a joint news conference with his Turkish counterpart in Antalya city.
The Palestinian minister condemned the US decision as a desperate attempt to thwart the inter-Palestinian efforts to firm up the national reconciliation.
Recently the US administration and its state department put Haneyya on its terror list as part of measures seemingly intended to punish the Palestinians following their rejection of president Donald Trump’s recognition of Occupied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and his “deal of the century” he seeks to impose on them in coordination with some regional countries.
