Dozens of Israeli settlers stormed on Friday Palestinian archeological sites in Nablus’s northern town of Berkaa in the northern occupied West Bank.
Ghassan Dughlas who monitors settlement in the northern West Bank said a horde of 150 Israeli settlers escorted by Israeli military forces broke into al-Masoudiya area and scoured archeological sites dating back to the Ottoman era.
The Palestinian locals raised fears of underway Israeli attempts to hold sway over their lands in favor of illegal settlement.
423 settlement outposts have been illegally built and expanded by the Israeli occupation authorities on Palestinian lands across the occupied West Bank. The settlements cover nearly 46% of West Bank lands and offer accommodation to 700000 Israeli settlers.
