5 Gazans including infant injured after 2 homes caught on fire

Saturday 27-January-2018

Five Palestinians including a one-month-old baby on Saturday were injured after their homes caught on fire in Gaza Strip.

Medical sources at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza said that infant Mohammad Shaban from Jabalya suffered third-degree burns because of a heater in his family’s home. The four others were wounded after a fire flared in their home in al-Tufaah neighborhood in Gaza city.

Earlier on Friday evening a 5-month-old baby girl died because of a blaze that flared up in her family’s house in al-Sabrah neighborhood south of Gaza because of torching a candle.

The Palestinians in Gaza have to use candles for illumination and other dangerous primitive heating methods because of the ongoing Gaza siege which has been imposed for 11 years leaving the Strip with no electricity for long hours each day.
