Clashes broke out on Tuesday between Palestinian youths and Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the West Bank cities of Bethlehem and al-Khalil. Meanwhile a general strike prevailed across the West Bank provinces in protest at the US Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to the region.
The Palestinian outraged youths threw stones and empty bottles at IOF soldiers and towards the Israeli military watchtower near the northern entrance to Bethlehem city.
In al-Khalil Clashes erupted in Bab al-Zawiya area after IOF soldiers launched a provocative inspection operation in the neighborhood.
IOF troops erected a military barrier amid tightened security measures at the entrance to Beit Enoun town to the east of the city.
A group of Jewish settlers of Tel al-Rumaidah settlement attacked a 19-year-old Palestinian man Tahsin al-Tamimi and hit him by gun rifles leaving him with bruises. As a result he was taken to hospital.
