Sheikh Kamal Khatib released after few hours detention

Israeli police released Tuesday afternoon Sheikh Kamal Khatib deputy head of the Islamic Movement within the Green Line only few hours of his arrest from his house in Kafr Kanna.

The lawyer Khaled Zabarqa told PIC reporter that Israeli police forces detained Sheikh Khatib after breaking into his house and transferred him to an investigation unit.

Sheikh Khatib has earlier received an Israeli notification extending the ban on his entry into occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli authorities have been banning his access to al-Aqsa Mosque and occupied Jerusalem since Novemeber 2015.

Sheikh Khatib was arrested and summoned for investigation for several times over his affiliation to the Islamic Movement and his prominent role in exposing Israeli Judaization attempts.
