Settlers break into Nablus shrines to perform Talmudic rituals

Sunday 21-January-2018

Hundreds of Israeli settlers at dawn Sunday stormed Awarta town east of Nablus city to perform Talmudic rituals in one of its historical sites.

Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that 13 buses carrying hundreds of settlers entered the town under the escort of the Israeli occupation forces who later closed Awarta’s entrances and prevented both entry and exit.

Dozens of Israeli soldiers were deployed in al-Hara al-Tahta neighborhood while some of them established guard posts on the rooftops of Palestinian houses in the presence of Israeli drones in the sky.

The witnesses said that the settlers carried out barbaric acts against the Palestinian citizens’ houses while heading to the shrine singing and shouting.

The Israeli army in the morning announced that its forces have secured the break-in of nearly 500 settlers into Awarta shrines.
