A Palestinian prisoner Hussein Atallah from Nablus on Saturday died in Israeli jails as a result to medical negligence and being deprived of his right to treatment for cancer according to Palestinian Prisoners Society.
The lawyer of Detainees and Ex-detainees Committee Yousef Nasasra affirmed that the martyr died after his health status had deteriorated. He was suffering from cancer which was spread in five parts of his body: the lungs spine liver head and the pancreas. The disease was discovered only 4 months ago the lawyer highlighted.
Nasasra also said that the martyr who was had 6 children and was sentenced to 32 years of which he spent 21 was languishing in Soroka Israeli hospital.
Prior to his death Atallah told the lawyer that doctors at the hospital informed him that his condition was very critical and that he ought to be released immediately. Nevertheless he was kept in hospital while tied to bed all the time and being deprived of his right to family visitation.
By the martyrdom of detainee Atallah the number of Palestinian martyrs of prisoners have mounted to 213 since 1967. Some 72 captives died due to torture 60 others as a result to medical ignorance 74 because of deliberate killing immediately after arrest and 7 more were shot by gunfire inside Israeli jails.
