Several Palestinian homes in Issawiya threatened with demolition

Wednesday 17-January-2018

An Israeli municipal crew escorted by police forces on Tuesday stormed al-Issawiya district in Occupied Jerusalem and put up administrative demolition orders against several homes at the pretext of unlicensed construction.

Consequently violent clashes broke out between young men and the police escort in the district according to local sources.

Meanwhile police soldiers entered Silwan district south of the Aqsa Mosque and set up a makeshift checkpoint on the main road near al-Ain Mosque in Wadi Helwah neighborhood.

Eyewitnesses said that the soldiers intercepted dozens of passing cars at the checkpoint and embarked on issuing arbitrary traffic tickets against drivers.
