Al-Quds Foundation Malaysia concluded an educational and introductory tour in South Africa which included a series of visits and educational lectures specialized in Al-Quds.
The tour came as a result of an invitation received by QFM to give a number of lectures and to introduce the Foundation’s project Masjid Al-Aqsa online multilingual Encyclopedia (aqsapedia.net) in Durban Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Lectures and meetings were organized by al-Quds Foundation South Africa in Cape Town the Palestine Information Network in Johannesburg the Islamic Forum and al-Islah Association in Durban. The tour also witnessed several lessons including a lesson in the “Awal Masjid” mosque in Cape Town which is the first mosque in South Africa founded in 1794 AD and the lectures covered the reality of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in light of the attack of Judaization and the danger of division.
The CEO of Al-Quds Foundation Malaysia Dr. Sharif Abu Shamala held several meetings and in-depth discussions with activists thinkers and officials of civil society institutions in South Africa including a meeting with the President and members of the Islamic Judicial Council whose Chairman Sheikh Irfan Ibrahim stressed the need to broaden and strengthen the base of work for Jerusalem he also praised QFM efforts and its role in disseminating the correct knowledge about Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
A meeting was held with the trustees of the Al-Quds Foundation South Africa headed by Sheikh Ibrahim Gebrail on ways to enhance cooperation and integration between the two institutions.
In addition to meetings with officials of the Association of Ulama’ other meetings were held with the Management of Al-Falah College the Board of Directors of the Palestine Information Network with whom the meeting discussed ways to promote and improve the maximum content in English and the integration of the two institutions.
The visits included some personalities and charitable institutions as well as a special visit to the family of the late Maulana Sheikh Ihsan Hendricks former head of the Al-Quds Foundation South Africa.
The tour also saw a special visit to the distinguished project “Museum of Palestine” and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Anouath Nagia who briefed the delegation on the progress of work the museum’s sections and its opening plan in the middle of the next year 2020 and discussed ways of cooperation and enhancing opportunities to make the most of the project.
