Palestinian hunger striker moved to hospital as health worsens

Sunday 8-December-2019

The Israel Prison Service on Sunday transferred the Palestinian detainee Mus’ab al-Hindi who has been on hunger strike for 75 days to a hospital after his health condition seriously worsened.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society the Israel Prison Service still refuses to end the administrative detention of al-Hindi and his fellow prisoner Ahmad Zahran who has been on hunger strike for 77 days.

Last Wednesday the Israeli Supreme Court decided to “freeze” the administrative detention of al-Hindi but days later the Israel Intelligence Service issued an order extending his detention.

Mus’ab al-Hindi 29 was arrested on 4 September 2019 and he has been held in Israeli lock-ups ever since with no charge or trial.

The Palestinian Prisoner Society condemned Israel’s administrative detention policy which is aimed at undermining the determination of the Palestinians and held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the life of al-Hindi and Zahran.
