The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Thursday night demolished a Palestinian house belonging to the family of prisoner Islam Abu Hamid in al-Am’ari refugee camp near Ramallah city for the second time during the current year.
According to local sources dozens of troops aboard military vehicles stormed al-Am’ari camp along with two bulldozers and encircled the house of Abu Hamid before embarking on knocking it down.
Consequently violent clashes broke out throughout the camp after hundreds of local youths hurled stones at Israeli soldiers.
The soldiers in turn fired volleys of tear gas grenades at the angry young men causing many of them to suffer from their exposure to fumes.
Meanwhile the IOF deployed road barriers in the vicinity of the camp intercepted vehicles and arrested a local young man.
The IOF had already demolished the house of Abu Hamid during the current year after their son Islam was sentenced to life for the killing of an Israeli soldier with a marble slab he dropped from a rooftop during an IOF arrest campaign in al-Am’ari Refugee Camp on May 24 2018.
