At least 18 Palestinian citizens suffered injuries on Wednesday evening after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the eastern area of Nablus city in the West Bank and clashed with local young men.
The Red Crescent said that its ambulance crews provided medical assistance for two young men who suffered live bullet injuries in their lower extremities and another one who had a rubber bullet injury.
Paramedics also helped 15 citizens after they suffered from their exposure to tear gas fumes during the events.
Local sources said that the clashes broke out after Israeli troops stormed the eastern area of Nablus in order to secure the arrival of Jewish settlers at Joseph’s Tomb.
Israeli troops and settlers storm almost every week the eastern area of Nablus to perform rituals at the tomb which they falsely think is the resting-place of the biblical patriarch Joseph while locals and Palestinian historians affirm that the grave belongs to a local medieval Muslim sheikh called Yousef al-Duweik.
