Waed and Mohjat al-Quds associations on Tuesday staged a protest in Gaza City in solidarity with the Palestinian detainee Samer al-Arabeed who has been moved to hospital after being severely tortured by Israeli interrogators and the hunger striking prisoners in Israeli jails.
Ahmad al-Mudallal an Islamic Jihad leader during his speech called on international human rights organizations to act immediately against the violations and torture the Palestinian prisoners are exposed to in Israeli jails.
Al-Mudallal added “We call on the Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas who ignored the issue of prisoners in his speech at the General Assembly of the United Nations to intervene to stop the suffering of prisoners and file lawsuits with the International Criminal Court against the Israeli occupation leaders.”
On behalf of the families of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails Abu Azzam al-Basyuni delivered a speech in which he called for saving the life of Samer al-Arabeed who is in a life-threatening condition after being violently beaten by Israeli interrogators.
