Since last Sunday the Palestinian have started to nominate names for a planet and a start beyond the solar system after the International Astronomical Union (IAU) gave Palestine the opportunity to name them for the first time in history.
The extrasolar planet and star which are called temporarily “HAT-P-23b” and “HAT-P-23” are located about 1200 light years from Earth and was discovered by the IAU in 2010 according to the Palestinian Astronomical Society (PAS).
For that purpose PAS has launched the Palestinian National Campaign to name the planet and star after IAU agreed to allow Palestine to give them names.
All Palestinians can participate in this national campaign to choose the names for the star and the planet to represent their civilization culture history hope and love for their homeland Palestine.
