A horde of Jewish settlers led by Israel’s Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel on Sunday stormed al-Aqsa Mosque under tight police guard.
The Islamic Awqaf said that Ariel and 17 Israeli settlers accompanied by a large police force broke into al-Aqsa Mosque in the morning and toured its courtyards.
After midnight on Sunday the Israeli police forced the Palestinian worshipers who remained at al-Aqsa Mosque after Tarawih prayers out of the site to clear way for the settlers.

Israel’s Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel on Tuesday broke into al-Aqsa Mosque along with dozens of Israeli settlers amid heavy police presence.
Spokesman for Jerusalem’s Islamic Awqaf Department Feras al-Dibs said that Ariel and 56 Israeli settlers forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque through al-Maghareba Gate in the early morning hours.
Al-Dibs added that 20 Israeli government officials and 17 Jewish students from religious institutes and universities stormed the Mosque during the same period.
Settler break-ins into al-Aqsa Mosque are witnessed on a daily basis expect on Fridays and Saturdays in two rounds: in the morning and afternoon.
