Family denied visit to prisoner isolated in Eshel jail

Thursday 16-May-2019

The Red Cross has informed the family of Palestinian prisoner Anas Awwad a teacher from Awarta town in Nablus that the Israeli security authorities turned down a request to allow his mother to visit him in jail.

According to Asra Media Office the mother of prisoner Awwad had submitted a request through the Red Cross to allow her to visit her son who has been in an isolation cell in Eshel jail for 48 days.

Prisoner Awwad was isolated as a punitive measure after he was assaulted by Israeli prison forces during the violent events that took place in the Negev jail about one and a half months ago.

The Israeli security authorities already refused to give prison visit permits to the wife and father of Awwad.
