Thursday 11-April-2019

Ahmed Bahar first deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) on Wednesday denounced and called for criminalizing all the steps taken by some regional countries to normalize relations with the Israeli occupation state.

This came in a speech he delivered at the beginning of a special session held by the PLC in Gaza to discuss the dangers of the normalization steps taken by some Arab and Islamic countries towards the Israeli occupation.

Bahar saluted all the pro-Palestine and BDS activists around the world for their active role in staging boycott campaigns against the Israeli occupation.

He described the normalized relations between some Arab countries and Israel as a major act of treason against the Palestinian people and their national cause.

“The Arab normalizers have given the Zionist occupation a political cover to help it persist in its ongoing aggression and racist plots against our land and Islamic and Christian holy sites” the lawmaker stated.

He also said that those normalizers gave the green light for Israel to continue its Judaization and settlement activities bloodshedding home demolitions land grabs and its siege on Gaza

The lawmaker called for an official and popular Arab position against all forms of overt and covert normalization and urged all the Arab normalizers to declare their repentance and apologize to the nation for what they did.

He also called for forming popular political or legal committees working on holding public trials for the normalizers in the Arab countries and exposing the dangers they pose to their communities and nation.

During the session MP Mahmoud al-Zahhar recommended in a report he read enacting laws criminalizing all forms of normalization with the occupation state and considering them acts of high treason.

The report called for forming a coalition of parliamentarians from different Arab and Islamic countries to confront the danger of normalization with Israel.
