Aruri: Ending the blockade is the goal of any truce with Israel

Sunday 31-March-2019

Deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Saleh al-Aruri said that the goal of any truce with the Israeli occupation state would be to end the blockade on the Gaza Strip and stop the aggression against the population.

In remarks to al-Mayadeen satellite channel Aruri denied there would be a political price for the truce with Israel. “The truce is not peace with the occupation and it has no political or national dimension. It also does not restrict our people’s activities and their struggle for their rights.”

The Hamas official described the Land Day as an important occasion for the Palestinian people to practically affirm their adherence to their rights and land.

He affirmed that the Palestinian people would continue to use and develop legitimate struggle means until they extracted all their rights including the right of return.

Aruri hailed Hezbollah and Iran for their supportive positions towards the Palestinian cause stressing the importance of strengthening the relations with them.

He also valued the Syrian historic role in supporting the Palestinian cause expressing hope that his Movement could restore its relations with Syria.
