Member of Hamas’s political bureau Husam Badran has talked over the phone with the family of martyr Omar Abu Laila expressing his Movement’s pride in his heroism.
Two days after he managed to kill an Israeli soldier and a settler in Salfit Omar Abu Laila 19 was killed in a shootout in the West Bank village of Abwein near Ramallah on Tuesday.
Badran described Abu Laila as a “legend” and said the martyr set a great example of the struggle against the occupation and gave an important lesson in resisting the occupation with only a fighting spirit.
He also hailed the martyr for his astonishing courage and his fight for Jerusalem the Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian cause.
For its part the martyr’s family expressed its thanks to Badran for his phone call and said the martyrdom of its son was a pride for it.
The family also said that the martyr exemplified the popular rallying around the resistance.
