13 Palestinians injured by Israeli bullet fire in al-Bireh

Tuesday 8-January-2019

At least 13 Palestinians were left injured on Monday evening in clashes with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the central West Bank city of al-Bireh.

Red Crescent paramedics said a number of Palestinians received field treatment and others were rushed to local hospitals.

Clashes flared up shortly after the IOF rolled into al-Bireh at nightfall and attacked civilians with spates of bullet fire and teargas canisters.

Dozens of soldiers climbed over the rooftops of civilian premises and seized surveillance cameras from local shops.

The occupation forces prevented journalists from reaching the area to document scenes of violence.

At the same time the IOF attacked Palestinians in Jenin’s western town of al-Tiba with teargas resulting in several suffocation cases.

Head of the local village council Khaled Jabareen called on the concerned institutions to take urgent action in order to pressurize the occupation forces to cease its aggressions against Palestinian civilians.
