The Israeli military launched air strikes on the Gaza Strip and south of Lebanon at dawn Friday following a spate of rocket launches as tensions soar after Israeli forces stormed the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem.

Several areas in the Gaza Strip were hit in different raids which started after midnight local time. There were no reports of casualties according to the Palestinian health ministry.

Several resistance sites were hit in new Israeli attacks at dawn today while material damage was caused after Israeli airstrikes targeted the Al-Durra Children’s Hospital east of Gaza.

The Palestinian health ministry strongly condemned the attack as a serious violation of the international law.

Anti-aircraft missiles were fired at the raiding warplanes while rockets were fired at southern Israeli areas in response triggering sirens in several Israeli towns and cities bordering the Strip.

Meanwhile the Israeli army launched air strikes on Lebanon hours after rockets were fired from Lebanon’s south into northern Israeli areas on Thursday afternoon.

The military said the strikes in Lebanon targeted infrastructure belonging to Hamas Movement.

Local media said farmland around al-Rashadieh a seafront refugee camp just south of the city of Sour was hit. There are no known casualties so far.

The latest raids come amid rising tensions over the storming of the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem by Israeli troops who fired stun grenades attacked Palestinian worshipers and expelled them from the holy site as they gathered for Ramadan prayers.
