The Israeli supreme council for planning and building has passed final approval for the construction of 4000 settlement units in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz the council met again on Thursday and approved the building of 4000 settlement units after 3000 units were approved on Wednesday.
The newspaper added that the building of 7287 settlement units was approved in two days pointing out that this is the largest number of settlement units that has been approved since 2021.
It underlined that the council would discuss legalizing settlement outposts retroactively.
The settlements in which new settlement units will be built are Ma’ale Adumim Kokhav Ya’akov Giv’at Ze’ev Ma’ale Amos and Eliezer.
