The Israeli prison service (IPS) launched an assault Monday evening on the minors section in Damon prison and brutally attacked the child prisoners.
The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said in a brief statement that the Damon prison administration imposed unfair and harsh punitive measures on the child detainees including closing the canteen for a week and preventing phone calls.
The IPS earlier confiscated the child detainees’ lectric devices and prevented their family visits.
Tensions have reached boiling point in several Israeli prisons holding Palestinian prisoners under the far-right national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir who is in charge of police and prisoners in his role in Israel’s new extreme-right-wing government.
There are at least 4700 Palestinians in Israeli prisons including 150 minors 34 women and 835 people held in administrative detention without trial or charge.
