The Israeli occupation army claimed its forces shot at two armed Syrian individuals near the Syrian border on Sunday killing one of them and injuring the other.
The incident happened after Israeli soldiers spotted two armed men crossing the border from Syria and approaching the security fence in the southern Golan Heights a statement issued by the Israeli army said.
The Israeli-Syrian border has remained largely calm despite frequent Israeli airstrikes on targets in Syria.
The Golan Heights is an occupied territory Israel seized from Syria in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed in 1981 in a move not recognized by the international community.
