A group of Jewish settlers rebuilt an illegal settlement outpost on Jureesh village lands southeast of Nablus on Sunday evening.
A few days ago the settlers tried to place mobile houses in the area before being confronted and expelled by local residents.
Hebrew media sources claimed that the new illegal outpost was “dedicated to the memory of the late rabbi and religious Zionist spiritual leader Haim Drukman.”
The outpost reportedly established by Drukman’s grandchild is located near the Israeli settlement of Migdalim according to the sources.
Palestinian estimates indicate there are about 650000 Jewish settlers living in 164 settlements and 116 outposts in the occupied West Bank including Jerusalem.
International law views both the West Bank and East Jerusalem as occupied territories and considers all Jewish settlement-building activities there illegal.
