The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large scale raid campaign in al-Khalil shortly after an alleged shooting attempt on Tuesday afternoon.
The IOF troops stormed the Jilda area in the center of city amid heavy firing of teargas bombs at local homes.
The raid came only a few hours after the IOF shot dead a Palestinian young man near Halhul town on allegations of his intention to carry out a shooting operation.
The IOF reportedly prevented Palestinian ambulance crews from reaching the slain young man whose body was lying on the ground.
Local sources who identified the victim as Palestinian Authority security officer Hamdi Abu Dayya said that the soldiers opened fire at him because he was armed.
