Sheikh Kamal al-Khatib head of the Freedoms Committee in 1948 occupied Palestine has warned that “the Aqsa Mosque is going through an extremely dangerous stage.”
“Ben Gvir’s desecration of the Aqsa Mosque on the first day of his official appointment as minister in the new government portends that the Aqsa Mosque will be facing a dangerous stage in the coming period” Sheikh Khatib said in press remarks on Tuesday.
“Ben Gvir is the one who has made up a slogan calling for giving Jews rights [at the Aqsa Mosque] equal to Muslims therefore his desecration of the Mosque was not a normal incident” Sheikh Khatib added.
He called on the Palestinian masses to intensify their presence at the Aqsa Mosque to protect it against desecration and Judaization.
Israel’s far-right national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir defiled the Aqsa Mosque compound in Occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday morning in a move Palestinians called a “deliberate provocation” ignoring Palestinian warnings that his appearance at the holy site would inflame tensions.
Ben-Gvir notorious as a provocateur said he would not “surrender to the threats of Hamas” after the Palestinian resistance group warned that his entrance to the Islamic holy site on Tuesday would cross a “red line.”
