The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Sunday deported the Jerusalemite prisoner Salah al-Hamouri to France.
The IOA deported the French-Palestinian lawyer and activist al-Hamouri to France at dawn after he has been placed under administrative detention for nine months according to Hebrew media.
Since the 7th of March 2022 al-Hamouri has been held under administrative detention without trial.
In October 2021 the Israeli Judicial Adviser and Minister of Justice approved the decision to withdraw the Jerusalem ID of prisoner Al-Hamouri.
On the 17th of October 2021 the Minister of Interior decided to revoke Al-Hamouri’s permanent residency in Jerusalem.
Earlier in 2016 the IOA deported Al-Hamouri’s wife from Palestine claiming that she supports campaigns to boycott Israel.
Al-Hamouri a Jerusalemite activist who worked at Addameer Human Rights Association spent 8 years in Israeli jails and was released in 2011 in Wafa al-Ahrar swap deal.
In a press statement on Sunday the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned the IOA for deporting al-Hamouri affirming that this crime which is part of the Israeli ethnic cleansing policy requires the intervention of international institutions.
For its part the Palestinian prisoners society stressed that deporting prisoner al-Hamouri to France constitutes a new crime against al-Hamouri adding that such an Israeli policy aims at eliminating the Palestinian existence in Occupied Jerusalem.
“Deporting al-Hamouri to France constitutes a crime against humanity” Member of Hamas’s political bureau Zahir Jabarin said adding that it reflects the racist Israeli policies practiced against the Palestinian people.
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs – France affirmed its rejection of deporting al-Hamouri adding that this Israeli policy violates international laws and conventions.
