Deputy Director of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Council and head of the Al-Aqsa Academy for Endowment and Heritage Sheikh Najeh Bakirat on Saturday warned of the ongoing Israeli violations against Jerusalemites and Islamic holy sites including the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“We are fighting in a draining battle against the Israeli occupation of our lands” Sheikh Bakirat said stressing that Israel is desperately trying to impose the Israeli curriculum on the Jerusalemite children and to eliminate the Palestinian identity and existence from Jerusalem.
Sheikh Bakirat underlined that Israel has been escalating its campaigns of arrest against Jerusalemite activists in addition to the settlement expansion plans since the beginning of 2022.
“Such violations aim at facilitating the Jewish settlers’ incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque and changing its status quo” Bakirat added.
