The Hamas Movement has said that the Palestinian prisoners’ issue has been and still is one of its top priorities stressing its continuous quest to release all the prisoners by all means possible.
In a press statement on Tuesday the Movement said that the Palestinians today commemorate the 28th anniversary of capturing the Israeli soldier Nachshon Wachsman by the Hamas armed wing Al-Qassam Brigades.
“The operation paved the way for holding more captives of Israeli soldiers and arranging swap deals in order to release the Palestinian prisoners” the Movement added.
It underlined that three Palestinian freedom fighters were martyred during the armed clash that took place when Israeli occupation forces attacked the place where the soldier was held while three others were arrested and later released in Wafa al-Ahrar swap deal hailing the bravery of the fighters and mourning the death of the martyrs.
4650 Palestinians including 32 women 180 children and 743 administrative detainees are being held in Israeli prisons according to committees concerned with Palestinian detainees’ affairs.
