The Islamic Movement in Occupied Jerusalem has called on the Palestinian masses to make the current Prophet’s Mawlid (birth) an occasion to intensify their presence at the Aqsa Mosque and protect it against settler break-ins.
“The Jerusalemites honor those who helped them and defended them and their religion and abhor those who betrayed and sold the Ummah’s issues and dignity and bargained over them” the Islamic Movement said in a statement on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s Mawlid.
The Islamic Movement warned that the settler violations at the Aqsa Mosque would peak in the coming days as the Palestinians commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the Aqsa Mosque massacre.
In a related incident the Israeli occupation police attacked Palestinian citizens and injured a number of them as they were marking the Prophet’s Mawlid in Jerusalem’s Bab al-Amud area.
Local sources said that police officers assaulted and arrested many Palestinians in the Old City’s streets especially in Bab al-Amud adding that Palestinian paramedics provided medical assistance for several citizens after their exposure to different police assaults.
