The Hamas Movement on Tuesday denounced British Prime Minister Liz Truss’s statements in which she voiced support for Zionism and the Israeli occupation labeling the statements as biased.
“Such statements will not deter the Palestinians” Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha told the PIC stressing that PM Truss’s position will only boost the Palestinians’ determination to confront the Israeli criminal policies.
Spokesman Taha affirmed that Truss’s position gives the green light for Israel to go on with its crimes against the Palestinian people.
For his part member of Hamas political bureau abroad Sami Abu Zuhri said that such comments are a “continuation of Britain’s crime against the Palestinian national cause” which started with the Balfour Declaration issued more than one hundred years ago.
Abu Zuhri added that such statements which provide cover for killing innocent children are a “disgrace to humanity.”
Earlier today Truss said at an event held by Conservative Friends of Israel group that she is “a huge Zionist and supporter of Israel” adding that she will work towards taking the UK-Israeli relations “from strength to strength.”
