Tuesday 27-September-2022

Five Palestinian prisoners continued their open-ended hunger strike for the third day in a row in a Palestinian Authority prison on Tuesday according to the head of Lawyers for Justice group Muhannad Karajah.

“The five prisoners started their hunger strike three days ago in protest at their detention in the PA prison of Beitunia in the West Bank city of Ramallah after being charged with criminality” Karajah said in a press conference held in Ramallah.

Karajah affirmed that the five prisoners’ lives are in danger due to their deteriorating health conditions along with being tortured in the PA prison in Ramallah.

For her part Asma prisoner Ahmad Harish’s sister underlined that the prisoners have been detained for 114 days calling on human rights institutions to pressure for their release.

The sister of another detainee Monthir Rahib who managed to visit him pointed out that he is suffering from breathing difficulties asserting that he is being severely tortured despite his old age.
