The Jerusalemite activist Zina Amr said that the Israeli occupation authorities are working to empty al-Aqsa Mosque from Palestinian worshipers.
Zina Amr 58 was arrested earlier Thursday from her home in east Jerusalem with no regard for her medical suffering. She was later released and denied access to the al-Aqsa for a week.
Commenting on the Israeli ban Amr said that it came as part of the Israeli systematic policy to target the female activists who use to remain in al-Aqsa Mosque and to confront the Israeli Judaization plans and Jewish settlers’ break-ins.
The Israeli occupation has been trying in recent years to arrest the activists in al-Aqsa Mosque ahead of the Jewish holidays and forcibly remove them from the Mosque the Old City and the roads leading to the holy site she said.
Amr expressed deep sorrow over the Israeli decision to ban her entry to the Mosque. Al-Aqsa is a part of my soul she stressed.
Amr pointed out that she was arrested from her house despite her difficult health condition as she was getting prepared to go to a hospital when the police raided the house.
Many Jerusalemite women who are keen on going on daily retreat at the Aqsa Mosque are exposed to systematic persecution by the police especially when there are Israeli intents to allow a large number of extremist Jewish settlers to defile the Islamic holy site during religious occasions.
In recent days the Israeli police issued orders banning a number of Islamic Awqaf employees and Muslim worshipers from entering the Aqsa Mosque for different periods and allowed scores of settlers to desecrate it.
